A couple of our favourites in this silly rom-com as
the supporting actors definitely save an otherwise terrible film. Ben Stiller
plays Ruben, a risk analyst at an insurance firm whose honeymoon does not go to
plan. He meets an old school friend, Polly Prince played by Jennifer Aniston,
who is the positive to his negative magnet, so to speak. All the best moments
come from Hank Azaria as nudist Frenchman Claude and from the late Philip
Seymour Hoffman as Ruben’s best friend/crap mentor Sandy. In fact, the more I think
about it, if you cut out all of the scenes involving those two, this is an
awful movie. It’s cut strangely. It’s like they have let a teenager in to the
editing room and that teen has added slow motion to all the ‘funny’ bits to
make them even more in-your-face hilarious. It is a silly film and I’m trying
to be professional in coming up with more creative ways of explaining why the
movie is bad, hence furthering my writing ability, but I’m getting annoyed by
the film and I think I am going to leave you a couple of links to the best bits
of the movie and leave it at that. Understandable that I’m still unemployed eh?
