I’m
not a massive fan of Romantic-Comedy but I’ve got to say this may well be my
favourite. I had seen it before and I think it’s a film that is better the
first time around, which I think is quite unusual, and often suggests the film
isn’t that good. But with this it’s more because of the ridiculous twists it
sends your way, so when you know they’re coming the film loses it’s selling
point slightly. Steve Carrell is always hilarious and clearly gave Gosling some
pointers as his dry humour compliments his dazzling good looks and incredible
style in this film. Emma Stone and Julianne Moore are above and beyond Rom-Coms
usually but they each bring their own trademarks to their roles in this. It’s a
fun film this, and yet with some scarily real (and also incredibly cheesy)
lessons about love, marriage and human relationships in general. Nothing special,
but it’s easy to watch, has a great cast and I enjoy it every time I watch it.
