I'm
little Johnny Frost bite, moving around, freezing you up, freezing you down, like
an icicle, comin' in your tent in the pink light scissorbite, arctic death,
infinite night. The mighty Mighty Boosh. I thought this film was going
to be one to forget. Instead it was a pleasant surprise because it didn’t try to
be something it isn’t. The best of spoofs. It is definitely easy watching so
don’t expect a laugh a minute and do expect a lot of random silliness. It’s as
if Julian Barratt has stepped out of the Mighty Boosh and remained in
character for a normal film. The cast around him was excellent and were just as
silly as he was, or at least appropriately disapproving of his stupidity. Simon
Farnaby was the funniest character for me, playing Mindhorn’s stunt double
turned girlfriend-stealer. I’m not going to try and dress it up as something it’s
not. You are not in for movie magic. But it works exactly in the space of what
it is and I laughed a bit.
