Netflix have stepped up their game massively the past year or two. They are now distributing Hollywood blockbusters like this one. Pretty good cast, pretty big budget, big waste of time. That is not aimed at Netflix but at this film. Will Smith plays a cop who is partnered with the first ever orc cop (Edgerton) in a modern-day human-orc-elf world. It’s a great, original idea for a film and as someone who is a massive LOTR fan I was looking forward to it. However, they really messed up the opportunity. I can’t be asked to assess each thing because it’s really not very good. To be honest, if it wasn’t for Will Smith (who I believe will one day get back to making good films) I would have stopped watching halfway through. I also carried on because of the gorgeous Lucy Fry. I was waiting for her character to develop but it never did. Nearly rock-bottom, but enough smoke and mirrors to save it a little.
