I’ll
keep this short. I was tired and I didn’t want to concentrate too hard so I
whacked this on. On a scale of Paul Blart to Pineapple Express
this lands bang in the middle. It’s your run-of-the-mill American comedy where
some crazy shit happens that tickles you a little bit and it is entertaining,
but you probably wouldn’t watch it again. All I will say is that Jason Bateman
bores the hell out of me. I don’t dislike him, but it says a lot that my
favourite role of his is as the commentator in Dodgeball. The saving
grace of this film is Kate McKinnon. Maybe it’s just me but there’s something
about her I find hilarious. I hated the Ghostbusters remake, but on SNL
she has me in stitches and she was cracking me up in this too (apart from the
fart jokes – I’m not a big fan of fart jokes). Overall it was OK. That’s it.
