Back to the eighties with a young Tom Cruise in the film that kicked off his career. It was a pretty good film actually. Very feel good with a great soundtrack and that iconic dance scene. It also encapsulated the feeling of innocent youth, the build-up to the first time he meets Lana (De Mornay). That relationship was my favourite part of the film as you could never trust Lana and I shared Cruise’s confusion in their relationship. I have fallen in love with 80s Rebecca de Mornay, I did not realise that she is the mum in Wedding Crashers, Jesus. The writing wasn’t amazing but the story was original and overall the film was enjoyable, easy watching.
